Who we are.
UNDUE at reducethisbill.com is operated by Brad Powell, doing business as UNDUE (“we”, “us”). Questions about your information go to support@reducethisbill.com.
Your case file.
What you type about your bill (your name, mailing address, phone and email if you add them, city and state, the hospital, account number, amount, type of bill, insurance, household size, income, and date of service) is saved in your own browser’s local storage so you can come back to it.
To draft your letters, your browser sends those details to our server. The server uses them in memory to build the letters and sends them back. We do not store your case file in a database, and we do not write it to our logs.
UNDUE never asks for a diagnosis, medical records, or a Social Security number.
Payments.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number goes directly to Stripe and never reaches UNDUE. Stripe collects the details it needs to take a payment, such as your email, name, and billing ZIP code, under Stripe’s privacy policy.
We read Stripe’s record of your purchase, meaning your email and whether you paid for a given bill, only to unlock your letters and to restore access if you lose it. After you pay, your browser keeps a signed receipt that contains a scrambled (hashed) form of your email and a short label for the bill: its state, hospital, and amount.
No tracking.
UNDUE has no analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts, and sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Besides your case file and receipt, your browser stores one note saying whether you’ve seen the walkthrough.
Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes the technical data every website sees, such as IP address and browser type, to deliver pages and protect the service. We briefly use your IP address in memory to limit repeated requests.
Who else sees it.
We don’t sell or rent your information, and we don’t share it for advertising. The only services involved are the ones that run UNDUE: Stripe for payments, Vercel for hosting, and our email provider for messages you send to support@reducethisbill.com. We would disclose information if the law required it.
Keeping it safe.
Every page is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Paid letters are generated on the server and released only after Stripe confirms payment. Because we don’t store case files, there is no database of bills to lose.
Your choices.
- Delete your case file anytime by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
- Email support@reducethisbill.com to ask what we hold about you or to request deletion. That means your support emails, and your purchase record where the law and our payment obligations allow.
Children.
UNDUE is meant for adults handling their own or their household’s bills, and it is not directed at children under 13.
Changes.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. See also the terms and refund policy.
